What is POSTHCARD?

POSTHCARD at its core is a simulation that allow caregivers to deal with the daily living situations they might encounter with an Alzheimer patient. The narrative simulation will replicate a realistic situation that is personalized to each user, helping them find an appropriate strategy to reach their goal.

How can it help

Having a relative with Alzheimer is a daily challenge. All activities can become more complicated and can be a source of stress. Therefore adopting the appropriate behavior can facilitate daily work. The POSTHCARD platform will teach informal caregivers the adapted behaviors to care for Alzheimer patients and to interact positively in a meaningful way.

By practicing the daily situations each caregiver encounters with an Alzheimer patient, the user is able to test different coping strategies and select the most appropriate one. Shaped as a narrative, the simulation will engage learner, foster the emotional dimension in relationships and promote self-reflection of the learner, regarding his/her own personal experience as a caregiver.

Knowing adapted way to interact with Alzheimer patients and knowing how to respond to their specific needs will improve care efficiency, interpersonal relationships and reduce the stress associated to care.
